Sarah has a career spanning more than 20 years and a variety of educational roles. She is passionate about bringing the love of STEM to youth of all ages and backgrounds.
After moving back and forth between the USA and Europe several times as an Air Force spouse, her family settled in Colorado Springs in 2014. She taught 5th grade for two years in D11, bringing her students to STARBASE both years before joining the STARBASE team as a full time instructor in 2017. In October 2021 Sarah moved into the role of Director where she continues to work to bring as many youth as possible to the STARBASE Peterson program.
Mike moved to Colorado Springs via California to become the office administrator at Starbase Peterson in February 2022. Prior to this he spent 20 years teaching Chemistry in a UK high school. He is passionate about STEM projects after having the opportunity to spend the early years of his career working as an industrial chemist in the oil industry. Mike is now looking forward to inspiring the next generation of STEM professionals through the Starbase program.
Carolyn recently moved to Colorado Springs after receiving her Bachelor's degree in Secondary Mathematics Education from Indiana University. Living in Indiana her whole life, she is enjoying all of the beautiful scenery that Colorado has to offer. She loves all things math and working with students. Carolyn joined the STARBASE team in September 2021 and is excited to begin her teaching career here!

Lynne joined us after teaching high school science in Massachusetts and New Mexico for 23 years. During that time, she also coordinated several high school Science Fairs and coached BEST robotics and Science Olympiad teams. She moved to Colorado Springs in 2018. Lynne enjoys traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.
